A Berkeley woodwind institution

Forrests Music began as a repair shop in Berkeley in 1944 and grew into a specialty destination for oboe, bassoon, English horn, and other woodwind players.

The shop has long served musicians around the Bay Area with instruments, reeds, cane, tools, music, accessories, and repair knowledge.

Double-reed focus

Forrests is known for high-quality double-reed products and practical help for players who need the right reed, bocal, tool, case, or instrument support.

Instrument trials and specialized purchases are available by appointment.

Continuing the shop

Long-time employees Cynthia Hanson and Audrey Jackson are part of the current ownership team and continue the shop's focus on careful service and specialist selection.
