$10.00In stock
Syrinx was composed for solo flute in 1913 as incidental music for Gabriel Mourey's play "Psyche". The music reflects the story of the Greek mythological figure Syrinx, a nymph who transforms into a reed to escape the pursuit of the god Pan. The piece is known for its fluid, ethereal melodies and atmospheric qualities. Kris King is a bassoonist and arranger in Northern California. He performs with the octet Nomad Session, the wind trio Keyed Kontraptions and multiple orchestras in the San Francisco Bay Area.
