Mason Cox: Seer for Unaccompanied Bassoon

This solo bassoon piece is a narrative, "choose your own adventure" where bassoonists get to pick not only which of the 16 fragments to perform but also the order in which they perform them. The beginning serves as a prelude and depicts falling into a trance. The middle section represents the fragments of one's future that performers must interpret and piece together to tell the future. The last section of the piece serves as a postlude and depicts the performer falling out of their trance state.
